Besides ground meat patty, hamburgers are also stuffed with lettuce, onions, tomato slices, pickles, and cheese.
Hamburgers are also categorized into two types in the United States. Fast food hamburger and individual hamburgers served at restaurants are two basic types of burgers served in the United States. The individual hamburgers served at restaurants are prepared using everything including lettuce, onion, tomato, and sliced pickles as well as melted cheese on the patty or crumbled on top. American restaurants also serve veggie burgers for those who don't relish meat. Cheeseburgers are also hot favorite in the United States.

Whatever, put grease in my mouth. I've been to others, and this one is no different. Limited menu, greasy burgers, AMAZING (and plentiful) fries, and a Coke Freestyle machine. It's all good.

Stopped in for dinner one night. I noticed immediately how limited the menu was. You can order a hamburger, hot dog, grilled cheese or veggie sandwich. That's it. I ordered a hot dog, and I must say it was a pretty darn tasty hot dog. They slice it in half and fry it on the griddle it so you get the caramelization flavor to the dog. I also got the cajun fries. The fries were good, but not the greatest thing I've ever had. I actually thought they were a bit over-seasoned. They had the freestyle pop machine, so I was able to get my favorite beverage...a cherry Sprite. For fast food, the prices here are a bit steep, so be prepared to pay a little extra.

Joe is the man. Simple as that. I went in just now for some lunch, but I wasn't sure where I wanted to end up. Final Destination: Bacon Cheeseburger with everything and some grilled bits, and I can say it was definitely the right choice. I have no problem coming back to work exclaiming how happy I was to have Five Guys in my mouth :) Seriously though. Joe was extremely courteous and ended up being the guy who put my meal together. He even took the time to read the fact that "See ID" is on the back of my credit card and he actually asked to see my ID. Thanks again.

You can grab your nuts and munch away until your burger and fries are ready but please don't just reach into the pile of peanuts... use the scoop. Then understand that the fries are so freakin delicious... the hand-cut kind... thick and steaming hot. I love them. Classic. The burgers are small and not too decked out with toppings but tasty nonetheless. They have sweet tea or unsweetened tea for all of your iced tea adventures... even a raspberry-like flavor for all you, "I need flavors" types. Bleh. The single best thing about this joint is the malt vinegar. It's on the condiment counter. Drown your fries in that stuff... it's the best thing since sliced bread, Candice. I mean, really... have you tried to eat a sandwich on unsliced bread? Don't even think about putting a loaf in the toaster... Awkward. Never mind the fact that they keep their potatoes in sacks on the floor and use them as a cattle corral. Moooove on down the line, Bessy. The potatoes grow in dirt... it's ok. By the way... only four guys behind the counter... just saying'.

These guys consistently get it right. Burgers and fries are hot, fresh, and delicious every time. This restaurant is well-managed and staff stays on top of keeping the place clean making sure customers are happy.

If 2.5 Stars were possible that is what they get. Have been to a number of Five Guy locations in the last few years. Pretty much the same every where. Burgers good, graet fries and drink machine. Peanuts are a nice touch. Biggest complaint, Just for me, A shade under $13. HHHMMM!!! For a couple extra $ could have gone another 5 minutes to the Weber Grill and NOT gotten a smooched down, flat grilled piece of meat , been served and happy to pay for it. The food is good but Not That Good. $2.29 for a drink? $2.29 for Too many fries? ( for the $ of the burger should include fries) Shave the prices and I may come back. I'll drive the extra 5 minutes to Weber Grill for a much better burger.

It's a good thing another burger joint opened up thats in between Mcdonalds and DMK. A purgatory of sort I guess. Five guys is where you go if you want a burger and are stuck in the indecisive zone of frustration. It's where you go if you've given up on life for the day. Five Guys shares a good consistency with all its chains. I like that they don't give you dinky burgers or fries (have you seen how full the paper bags are). But on a scale of 1-10, I'd give the burger itself a 5 just because if I had all the ingredients bought, I could probably make the same thing. There's not really anything that makes me wonder what they put in there. But there IS something pretty cool: if you ask for a bun-less burger (blasphemy I know) they give you this really cool amalgamation of stuff wrapped in foil. Give it a try! It's a new feeling when you're eating this pile of meat and veggies with a fork and it just so happens to taste like a burger. In a sense, it's my way of mind screwing my self to turn a negative into a positive. Take home message: if you want a lot of fries (non-crispy soggy style) please come to Five Guys.

This was our first time at Five Guys. When you walk in, the walls are literally covered with quotes about how great it is. The only problem with hype, is that you have to live up to it. The young lady at the cash register was AWESOME - we told her it was our first time, she gave us the pitch, and even offered to cut a burger in half for us so we could split it. We moved on to the drinks - they have the Coca-Cola freestyle, which has over 100 options. I was psyched - the Dr. said I have to cut down on caffeine, so I went for the Caffeine-Free Diet Coke. The machine was out...the restaurant had been open less than an hour, and several of the drink flavors were empty. Again, it's about expectation - if they only had Diet Coke, I'd have been a bad boy... :-) Our food came, and it was a mixed-bag (pun-intended). The portion of fries was incredibly generous. We had a regular fry, and there were probably as many fries in the bag as there were in the full cup. The burger was dry, and the fries were so-so - the fries in the bottom of the cup were very salty - on top, had little salt. Personal note - I believe that if you're going to specialize in hamburgers, you should be able to provide a burger that is less than well-done. On the menu it says they have well-done juicy burgers, but for us it just wasn't the case. Overall, some of the other upscale burger joints in the area do it better (like Meatheads). If you're going to charge over $11 for a burger, reg fries and reg drink, it should be better.

Standard Five Guys fare. The three is for the weird, half fresh and half old fries (which I finished anyway) and the slightly over-crispy bun for my burger. Otherwise, the service was friendly enough and the wait for our food was acceptable, given how crowded the place way. Not too loud and fairly clean. Also I do rather enjoy the fancy pop machine that lets me mix flavors so yay for that.

This is where you can go if you don't have a "grill master" in your life. The burgers at 5 Guys are good, but not "to die for". They are filling. The toppings are free, which is a pleasant surprise, but at $7.49 for a double cheese burger with bacon, condiments should be free. My concern was the price. My husband and I had 2 DCB's, 2 large drinks and a large fry. Our bill was $24+tax. Ouch! We did enjoy the free entertainment, "shell them yourself" peanuts AND it is a COKE shop. Yeah!

Each time I go is better than the last. I love their burgers almost as much as their fri's. It's not cheap, but still worth it!
(4)Christina M.
Hey everyone - if you want a juicy - right off the grill burger go to 5 guys. I've been looking for a great burger place and this place is it. It's not for everyone - and if you're looking for something gormet - then this is not for you. It taste like your dads/uncle's burger off the grill at a family cook out. It's that fresh cheap eats type of flair. I like hamburgers/cheese burgers with little to no condiments.toppings - that is how I can tell the burger is good. I love it - but note the burgers are small - about the size of a Jr whopper/McD cheeseburger. So you may want to get (2). LOVE THE BURGERS - the fries are okay ( think they are sweet potatoes) - Give it a try it's like $5 a burger -if you don't like it - it wont break the bank. But I LOVE IT -- so it was worth it for me.

My boyfriend and I were actually looking for Long John Silvers that used to be right down the street but it wasn't there anymore. But this place stood out to us when we passed it the first time. Neither of us ever heard of the Five Guys but we felt kinda odd not knowing when we walked in because apparently they have been raved about by others.. The compliments are posted all over the walls.. literally. So we got pretty excited seeing all of the compliments and believed we were in for a good treat. The man told us they were known for their Burgers and Fries. My boyfriend ordered the Cheeseburger (double patty) with everything and I ordered the little cheeseburger (one patty) with everything plus jelepeno pepers and we ordered a large fry Five Guys style to split. I wanted cajun but he's not a spicy guy. As for our opinion on the food... the burger was nothing to rave about especially for the price. We both preferred a Portillos burger over theirs. BUT as for the fries.. THEY WERE AMAZING! They fry their fries in Peanut Oil and they weren't over salted and fresh as could be.. Oh and they have TWO coke freestyle machines which was awesome and the staff is friendly! It is pricey though.. it was $20 for the two burgers, large fry and a med drink. But if you get anything from there.. GET THE FRIES!

This is a place to go if you're just looking for a good burger with all the fixin's and a boatload of fries. Expect to spend around $12 for a double patty burger, regular fries, and a drink. This is NOT a place to find health food or if you're counting calories. There are free peanuts there in the shell, though there are signs on all the doors about not taking peanuts with you, most likely for liability reasons. The drink fountain machines are neat, though take a minute or two to figure out and get used to. You can literally create any drink combination you can dream of. A great place just to go get a burger with a buddy.

After hearing so much about Five Guys, I finally tried it out at the Downers Grove, IL location. Found out that Five Guys originally started in on the East Coast which is interesting. Being a West Coast guy, my fav. fast food burger joint has always been In-N-Out and after walking into Five Guys, I was totally reminded of In-N-Out. The decor at Five Guys is almost the same as In-N-Out red and white checker and yellow retro-style color scheme (without the yellow). At first glance, their burgers are significally more expensive that your average burger. A hamburger and cheeseburger are priced at $5.59 and $6.29 respectively and comes with 2 patties then you have 15 topping/ingredients to add to it. They also have Little Burgers which is pretty much the same but single patties. In retrospect, I probably should have gotten one of those Litle Burgers instead. I ordered the default "all the way" cheeseburger which comes with mayo, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, ketchup, and mustard. There are other other 7 other available toppings like relish, onions, jalapeno peppers, green peppers, A1 steak sauce, BBQ sauce, or hot sauce. I added relish to my burger as well. All their toppings are free. The burger was stacked and filling. Definitely tasted like a quality burger. The size was comparable to a Double-Double at In-N-Out which is still a bit too much for me. Might be perfect for people who have bigger appetites. Their fries have skin on them and have a little too much oil for my taste. I've had better. They also give you complimentary peanuts... Uhmm. Ok. Must be an east coast thing. Five Guys seems like a pseudo-casual sit-down place vs a traditional fast food burger joint. Overall, it's a pretty good burger place.

Overpriced Wendys. You have to be nuts to go here.

I love and will always love Five Guys. Prepare to be sleepy after eating it though.

Love Five Guys! When I lived in the City I would relish being able to go in a eat some peanuts and order up what I knew was going to be a very tasty burger! Sure beats any other fast food burger joint.
(5)Danny Y.
Let's just say I'm realllllllllly glad this Five Guys opened up because now free peanuts are just around the corner. And since rating Five Guys is akin to rating Micky D's, I'll just say that I ordered the double cheeseburger with bbq sauce, and it tastes just like any other double cheeseburger from any other Five Guys that I've tried. Taste gets them about 3.5 stars, then I gave a +1 for being brand new, and then a -1 for having too small a parking lot. After doing the math, and rounding up because I'm feeling generous, I decided to give them 4 stars. Hurray for free peanuts!
(4)Art R.
The food here is good, but I feel that it is WAY over-priced. Their fries are the best part of going here. Love their fries and the fact that you get a ton extra in the bag. As for the burgers, I feel like I could get something close for about half the price at Wendy's

We were originally going to go for a small steak, but instead decided to give FIVE GUYS a chance. Let's say I'm glad we did, but don't find it all that memorable. The wait staff is very friendly, and explained everything to us. I got a double hamburger, the wife got a cheeseburger. To say that it wasn't good isn't true, but I would compare it closely to MEATHEADS, CULVER'S, or STEAK 'N SHAKE burger quality. Yes, it's pricey, but you get all the salted peanuts in the shell you wish to crack and eat, and we placed our order for ONE french fry portion, because it WAS huge, and neither of us finished the fries. I liked the free refills on the soda, and choices of what toppings were quite a nice variety. Would we do it again? Possibly? Was it memorable? Not all that much, but I really only wanted to say that it's gonna cost you some buck$, because it's not like dining at McD's, Wendy's, or Burger King.

The burger and fries are great. A small fry really isn't small as it always fills the bottom of the bag too. The first time I ate here I got the bacon cheeseburger and it was huge! The smaller burger is plenty and not small at all. The burger is super fresh and juicy. There are a ton of toppings to choose from at no additional charge. The free peanuts are a fun salty treat while you wait for your meal. One of my favorite burgers in the area and never disappointing.
(5)Alison G.
Went in there once with a friend for a quick meal in June, what a disappointment. The meat was dry and tasteless and the bun was cold. I didn't like it at all. Their pops machine was also broken so no drinks could be served... it was just some bad unlucky experience. The fun part would be there are free peanuts which you can enjoy, if you like peanuts. Hmmmm for me I don't think I'm coming back. It's more of a place for parents and kids for some after-school treat.
